The Great Pacific Airshow

BritishReturning to the US for the first time in 11 years, the Red Arrows will be closing their North America tour at the fourth annual Great Pacific Airshow
The United Kingdom Red Arrows will be flying from across the pond to perform in Huntington Beach at the fourth annual Great Pacific Airshow, which will take place Oct. 4 – 6, 2019.
Flying distinctive Hawk fast-jets, the Red Arrows represents the speed, agility and precision of the Royal Air Force at their first Great Pacific Airshow and their first North American performance tour in 11 years. With only six U.S. shows, the Red Arrows North America tour will end with a farewell performance in Huntington Beach at the Great Pacific Airshow.

Performing alongside the Red Arrows this year will be the Canadian Forces Snowbirds, the US Air Force F-35A Lightning II Demonstration Team in their premier airshow season, plus the USAF A-10C Thunderbolt II Demo Team and the US Navy F-18 Super Hornet Tailhook Legacy Demo Team.

San Diego Tuskagee Airman Laid to Rest

World War II pilot Captain Claude Rowe flew first for the Royal Canadian Airforce, and later the US Airforce with the Tuskagee Airmen. His service was attended by members of the International Western Zone, USA Royal Canadian Legion as well as members of the US Airforce as he was interred at the National Rosecrans Cemetery in San Diego.  To view the short news clips that were aired on local TV click the links below.

Read the article on page 79 in the November/December 2017 issue of The Legion Magazine.  It describes the project that obtained markers for Canadian Veteran’s that are buried in the Inglewood Park Cemetery in Inglewood, California.  Our Zone was instrumental in seeing this project through to completion.
